School Of Magic Special Objects #2

  • Included In The Subscription "Passionate"
A booktest with the "Bloom Touch", which uses two non-gaffed books! A spectator sits on one of the books, and inserts a playing card where he wants (no force) into the other. The magician guesses what is on the page in question. The first book is then displayed, and the magician magically extracts a paper ball which, when unfolded, turns out to be the page with the same number as the page that was chosen in the other book!

The "Bloom Touch" version of this classic close-up trick. A card is chosen, torn up by a spectator, who keeps a piece of it. The other pieces are placed in the magician's pocket. A coin is borrowed, signed by another spectator, and placed in the magician's pocket. The magician then takes out of his pocket two wooden plates linked by rubber bands. The spectator removes the rubber bands and between the two plates, the spectator's card is found, which has been restored; but a piece is missing... which corresponds exactly to the one the spectator had kept. The climax is crazy: the spectator feels that there is something inside the card: he tears it up, and in its "entrails" there is... the signed coin! A real miracle. The magician gives a folded paper to the spectator: this is his prediction. He will invite the spectator to make an imaginary trip: the latter takes out of a purse various virtual (and therefore invisible!) coins from different countries of the world. He chooses the country of origin of each coin. Then he chooses one of them, and flips it. The prediction is then read: the magician has not only predicted which coin it is, but also if it fell on the heads or tails side! A completely impromptu trick... really crazy!

It is a marvel of a trick, ideal for parlour or stage conditions, and permitting to create a real pandemonium, very playful and with a tremendous end... Beyond the trick, you will see that it is really the play that you set up with the spectators that brings the magic... It is by seeing my so dear Ali Bongo using cardboard plates (for a completely different trick) that I came to this idea... Sure that you will not be disappointed!

Sefalaljia is the close-up version of the "Spirit Cabinet" routine designed by Stewart James. Gaetan Bloom has revisited the principle by including his famous "Bloom Touch": the "cabinet" is a simple cardboard box that he hands out for examination. Different "spirit" phenomena happen to various objects while they are isolated inside the box: - A borrowed ring is threaded onto a cord. - A small rugby ball, placed inside the box, mysteriously comes to life. A great classic... revisited by Gaetan Bloom.

This very old effect has been revisited by Gaetan Bloom. The basic "recipe" of Al Baker's trick has been enhanced with a little extra "Bloom Touch" that gives it such a special taste! A pie tin is blackened with soot. A mysterious inscription appears in this soot... it's the name of the card that has been chosen beforehand by a spectator!

A ring is borrowed, and is slipped onto the handle of a small spoon, which is held by a spectator. Despite these impossible conditions, the magician mysteriously releases the ring!

An impromptu trick par excellence: how to make a coin enclosed in a piece of paper disappear. This great classic is performed without any sleight of hand, and with the most ordinary props: a piece of paper, and a coin.

Isaac Newton has to be careful! Here, it is a pear which is used, for an effect of making a solid go through another solid... in impossible conditions! A nice tribute to the great magician Stewart James, with Gaetan’s “Bloom Touch”!

This trick is a close-up classic. A handkerchief is threaded onto a length of sewing thread. This thread is stretched in front of the magician, one end is held by his foot, and the other by his hand. The silk, placed on top, slides along the thread, but inexplicably obeys the magician's orders: it falls or stops at will! Gaetan Bloom started from the classical process, and applied his "Bloom Touch", which allows you to hand the props out for examination!

For lack of a pet, Toto is a white bean adopted by the magician! The latter shows a glass filled with white beans. The beans are abundantly shuffled, and despite this, he finds the only bean on which his name is written: "Toto"! Success guaranteed!

Frank Chapman's presentation of the famous "Jiffy Coin Trick": « Metamorphosis » (or the "Substitution Trunk") close-up version! One of the coins is enclosed by a spectator in a little bag, which is itself enclosed in a small box, and the whole in a larger box; each of these elements is hermetically sealed by rubber bands. The two signed coins mysteriously change places! Success guaranteed! To buy a “Renelys Box” click here.
