Alexandra Duvivier took part in the “Everyday Heroes” project. What's it all about? Let's hear from the documentary's producers, Underscore Films: « For that documentary, Everyday Heroes, we interviewed over fifty ‘heroes’ from every continent (aside from Antarctica). As the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic took hold of the world, we found ourselves overwhelmed with heartbreaking news. Amidst such sadness and uncertainty, we were yearning for positivity and connection. In light of this, we set out to create a film highlighting the positive stories coming out of the pandemic. In partnership with twenty producers from around the world, we were able to gather over 50 incredible stories. As the stories began coming together, we quickly realized that this film would not just be about positivity, but instead, about the humanity in people. The everyday heroes amongst us. Alexandra and Dominique Duvivier interview Jean Regil. In this informal chat, Jean Regil shares his experiences in magic. This interview is in four parts. Not to be missed!  

The basic trick is a classic of card magic. It was invented by Al Leech in 1950 and popularized by Frank Garcia under the name “Chicago Opener”. It has already been described on this platform. A spectator signs the card he has chosen; the card disappears... and the magician says it is in his glass of water. But the spectator doesn't see it; then the magician pours the water from the glass onto the table; the tablecloth becomes transparent... and the signed card appears underneath! More than that, he explains the “how”, and his vision of this particular type of show. Peter Din presents the “Six Cards Repeat” trick... with teddy bears! This routine is completely suitable for children, even the very young (aged 4 and over).  

"Wild Card" is one of the greatest classics of small packet tricks. It was created by Peter Kane. Dozens, even hundreds of versions have been conceived to this day. The magician ties three knots on a rope. He magically takes them one by one, and sends them to three different spectators. Each time, the knot disappears from the rope. Then he asks the three spectators to throw their invisible knots onto the rope... and indeed, they appear on it... but not quite, resulting in a surprising climax! The spectator's chosen card disappears... and when he gets up from his chair, he realizes that he was sitting on it! The effect is immediately repeated! A third time?... but this time, all 51 other cards disappear, and the spectator was still sitting on them! One last time?
