Anthony Owen
Anthony Owen was an English magician (1972–2019).
He was a brilliant and visionary man whose magic effects, routines, and ideas are sought after by the greatest.
His magic is visual, powerful, and technically accessible.
He was known as one of the most influential creators in the field of mentalism, and many of his original plots and effects feature in the repertoires of the most famous and respected artists in this field.
Whether performing close-up or using everyday objects (notepads, wallets, pencils, coins, etc.), his routines and methods are incredibly ingenious!
Anthony Owen also had a natural gift for approaching card magic from innovative angles. His incredible ability to streamline and simplify effects allowed him to reduce them to something as close to real magic as possible. This has never been more evident than with "Ultimate Oil And Water," which is undoubtedly the purest and most straightforward version of the "Oil and Water" effect ever devised. It's poetry in motion; it truly resembles real magic.
He was also a super famous magic writer and producer in England: he produced hundreds of hours of magic shows, including all of Derren Brown's shows since 2000!
He was the man behind the scenes, the mastermind behind all the best English magic has produced for over fifteen years.
He was a brilliant creator of magic effects, sought after by Paul Daniels and David Copperfield. He designed many of the effects presented on television by the best magicians... and was called upon as a consultant in the world of cinema and theater.
Winner of numerous awards (BAFTA, Royal Television Society, Rose d'Or, Best Tour Award for his contribution to The Linking Ring in January 1999, etc.), his magical contribution to the worlds of theater, cinema, and especially television is so significant that he has already received the British Magical Society's David Berglas Award.
He is the author of video programs and more than 20 books on magic. In 1993, he edited and published a quarterly magazine entitled The Dungeon.
