Paul Gertner
Paul Gertner is American. his interest in magic began as a child, borrowing library books on the subject. Or maybe, he says, he was influenced by his father, who created "magic" home movies using special effects and an 8mm video camera.
At the age of sixteen, Paul worked night shifts at the Forks Hotel in Buffalo, New York, learning a lot about how to interact with an audience and the psychological aspect of the show. His mentor was the legendary bar magician Eddie Fechter, the owner of “The Forks”. Starting in the mid-1970s, Gertner mainly performed at concerts and trade shows, and worked for various companies including IBM, NASA, GlaxoSmithKline and US Steel.
Paul Gertner appeared three times on the “Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson and was a guest on one of the episodes of “Mister Rogers' Neighborhood”. He also appeared four times in Penn & Teller’s “Fool Us”, which is a record! And he managed to fool them twice
