1970 was a special year for Dominique Duvivier in many ways: it was the year he turned 20, it was the year the Beatles (one of his favorite musical groups) broke up, and it was the year the famous Jerry's Nugget cards (his favorite cards) were manufactured. With these inspirations, Dominique Duvivier concocted a wonderful routine based on "Ace Assembly", with a scenario taking all these elements into account. A real gem! The magician opens a small envelope and shows that there is a card inside: it is his prediction card. The envelope is closed and left in full view. A card is freely chosen, and is lost in the deck. The magician takes the envelope again, and the prediction card magically goes through the envelope! The envelope is opened, it is now empty! The card is turned over, it is the card that has been freely chosen before, and is no longer in the deck!  

The mentalist asks a spectator to project his thoughts into the magician's head. The experiment takes place in three steps: first he guesses the letter that the spectator "sends" him, then a two digit number, and finally the card he has chosen. And the icing on the cake is that the magician shows that the card was predicted in advance! A very personal application of Viktor Vincent's double reality principle.  

The spectator determines five cards under extreme laboratory conditions, after shuffling the cards by himself. He adds up the values of the cards. For example, if he has a 10, a 6, a 3, a 5 and an 8, the total is 32. However, the magician had emptied his pockets at the beginning of the trick, and had therefore placed some coins aside on the table. We add up the values of the coins, there are 32 cents... the same total as for the cards!  

A blank card lays on the table at the beginning of the trick. The deck is displayed, and shuffled by taking half the cards face up, the other half face down. The spectator freely chooses one of the face-down cards. A magic pass, and the deck is spread out on the table: all the cards are now face up, except for one which is face down: it's the chosen card! The blank card is turned face up: it's the same card as the chosen one! New magic pass: all the backs of the cards of the deck are now blank! Success guaranteed! The magician shows two decks of cards in their cases: one red and one blue. The blue deck is taken out, the cards are shuffled, a card is chosen and lost in the deck by a spectator in extreme laboratory conditions. The red case is opened, it contains only a piece of paper folded in four, which is unfolded: it has "12" written on it. The spectator counts the cards from the top of the deck: the 12th card is his! The magician shows a blue deck and sets it aside : this is the prediction deck. He now displays a red deck, shows that the cards are all different, and a spectator FREELY choose one card. He then takes the blue deck out of its case, and ribbon spreads it on the table: there is a red-backed card among the blue-backed cards... and that card is the same as the chosen card ! "Nervous Breakdown" is one of Dominique Duvivier's bestsellers: The spectator has a free choice from among the four kings, and it is shown that this king was predicted in advance. The pitch of the trick is the same, but here the choice is not just from among four cards, but from the whole deck. Yes, the spectator chooses a card freely from among the 52 cards in the deck, and this card was clearly predicted in advance! Success guaranteed!  

A card is freely chosen, lost in the deck; the deck is enclosed in its case. A silk is handed for examination, and placed on top of the case. Despite these laboratory conditions, the chosen card will disappear from the deck and end up in the folds of the silk!  

The deck is shuffled, four spectators each freely indicate a card in the deck; these cards are isolated in a wallet. The magician shows a prediction, which is signed by a spectator, and puts it in the wallet together with the four chosen cards. The spectator opens the wallet himself, takes out the cards and the prediction, and sees that everything matches! And the icing on the cake, the magician shows that it couldn't have been any other way, since all the other cards in the deck are identical! A great miracle! You are going to make your spectators experience a special adventure, a mix of all kinds with several types of effects. A prediction deck (red back) is shuffled. Four cards are chosen from a second deck (blue back) under crazy conditions by four different spectators, while the magician's back is turned. These cards are lost in the deck under equally clear conditions. The magician, "to warm up", starts by finding the four Aces in the blue deck. The cards in the prediction deck are now counted: there are only 48. The four missing cards are the chosen cards, and have mysteriously traveled into the blue deck! And to top it all off, the four Aces from the red deck travel one by one into the magician’s four pockets.! At the end of this routine, both decks are handed out for examination.  

The spectator chooses a card, which is lost in the deck. A magic pass, and a card mysteriously turns up face up in the center of the deck; but against all odds, it is not the one chosen by the spectator: it is the 5 of Hearts. The magician then counts the cards from the 5, and the fifth one turns out to be... the chosen card. A completely automatic trick, but devilishly effective!
