Work in Progress is a term used to describe unfinished work in progress. In art, it is used by artists who wish to present either a project or their work in progress. In cinema, a film can also be screened as a work in progress, i.e. the director feels that the film's editing needs to be improved or is not yet complete. In an interview, Larry Jennings is asked what he thinks is the most impressive trick in Dai Vernon’s repertoire, of whom he was one of the closest friends. Larry Jennings cites and demonstrates this effect, which is a hell of a Tsunami; but he doesn't explain it! Tsunami is a Japanese word that means "tidal wave". It is a trick that will devastate the brains of your audience, whether they are laymen or magicians. The spectator chooses a card, and loses it under extreme laboratory conditions. Despite this, the magician finds the chosen card!  

The basement houses the showroom. On the first floor is the bar, where customers can sit at the counter or coffee tables, and watch screens on which magical effects specially recorded for the occasion are played in a loop. This video loop, which was broadcast in early 1990, is split into six parts.

Among all the traditions of the Double Fond, there is one that is very important to us: the shows in which the entire troupe participates. You will discover here the beginning of the show " Ouketi Ouketi " created in 2015, entirely written on the theme of the three-card monte and in which, therefore, the whole team participated: you will see here Alexandra and Dominique Duvivier, Quoc Tien Tran, Adeline Galland, Sophie Nguyen, Jean-Pierre Crispon, Philippe de Perthuis and Cédric Reimon.  

A very rare archive: you will discover a magnificent coin act with music by Dominique Duvivier! Years later, customers still tell us about it!  

This interview of Claude Rix by Alexandra and Dominique Duvivier is dedicated to the "Fruits d'Or", which is a magic brotherhood created by Claude Rix in 1973. We have seen Fred Kaps, Ali Bongo, Tommy Wonder, Richard Ross, Guy Lammertyn, Léon Chapelier, as well as Franck Garcia and Jean Ludow... And in the last few years, we have always seen: Gaetan Bloom, Alexandra and Dominique Duvivier, Francis Tabary, Devil, Pavel, Horace, the Blackfingers, Piet Forton, Quoc Tien Tran, Marc Paul, Antony Owen, Christopher, Jean Régil, Jean de Merry, Norbert Ferré, Bertran Lotth, Boris Wild... to name just a few! Every year the brotherhood meets for two or three days near Reims, France in the small village of Montaneuf to talk magic, perform magic, drink together, create magic tricks, eat together, exchange magical ideas, drink together, eat, laugh and especially drink a little to celebrate the new "Fruit d’Or" of the year (the new magician elected by the brotherhood)! The induction ceremony for a new member involves quite a ritual, including a rather original "test" since the "candidate" magician has to swallow a knife using a method that has never been used before by all the other members of the "Fruits d’Or".  

In the early 2000's, Alexandra and Dominique Duvivier performed an eclectic show: cards, coins, cups and balls, ropes, close-up, parlour magic, and even a grand illusion! Here is the show from June 19, 2002, which we offer you in 5 episodes. Not to be missed!

1970 was a special year for Dominique Duvivier in many ways: it was the year he turned 20, it was the year the Beatles (one of his favorite musical groups) broke up, and it was the year the famous Jerry's Nugget cards (his favorite cards) were manufactured. With these inspirations, Dominique Duvivier concocted a wonderful routine based on "Ace Assembly", with a scenario taking all these elements into account. A real gem!
