Three cards are chosen freely, and lost in the deck. The magician declares that he will "hypnotically put the audience to sleep" without anyone noticing it. He then picks three cards at random from the deck, hoping that they are the chosen cards... but none of them are! The three cards are placed in front of each of the three spectators, each of them confirms that it is not his card. The magician then "frees" his audience, who was until then under his "total hypnotic power": the three "wrong" cards are turned over one by one: they are now the good ones!
