This trick is included in the VHS program “Les Etoiles de la Magie Moderne: Boris Wild” (Stars of Modern Magic: Boris Wild), published by Mayette Magie in 1997. The spectator shuffles the deck and then cuts to a card. The magician then chooses a card at random from the deck and the spectator’s card then changes into the mate of the magician’s card. Like Dustin Hoffman in "Rain Man", you want to show your exceptional instant memorization skills. But surprise, you say that half of the cards are red-backed, and the other half are black-backed; and that in truth, the cards have been sorted by their backs!!!
