The magician shows two small packets of four cards; on one side there are four red cards, and on the other side four black cards. Each time he switches one or more cards from one packet to the other, the cards are returned to their original packs. Dominique Duvivier performs one of Eddy Taytelbaum's wonders (no explanation). Like Aladdin's lamp, this magnificent mini magic lantern will manifest its magical powers by revealing the name of the card previously chosen by a spectator!  

A spectator chooses a card. The magician then picks up a few cards that he had put aside before starting the trick; these cards will be used to create a kind of profile of the spectator's card: these are the four Aces, which he shows one by one. These Aces will first determine the "suit" of the card (e.g. Spades), then the value of the card (e.g. Jack), as the Ace in question transforms into the chosen card. Tsunami: Japanese word that means "tidal wave". It is a trick that will devastate the brains of your audience, whether they are laymen or magicians. This variation is based on a Bob Hummer principle. This routine is a completely atypical Tsunami, as there are no chosen cards, but this time the magician repeatedly guesses the number of cards turned over by a spectator under extreme laboratory conditions! Some cards are ribbon spread on the table. A spectator is invited to guess exactly how many cards there are: there seem to be more than twenty. The cards are turned over: the faces of these cards are red all over, and there are only four of them! And the icing on the cake is that these four cards transform into the four Aces! A completely original version of Dai Vernon's famous "Twisting the Aces" trick. The magician explains that he always sets the jokers aside when using a new deck of cards... and now he finds himself with a deck made up entirely of jokers. He takes four of them, and they magically turn over one by one. At the end of the trick, everything is handed out for examination!  

An ace assembly routine that is a bit peculiar, since aces end up returning to their original place.

It's the story of a drunk who wants to play poker. Being drunk as a skunk, he shuffles the cards face up and face down. Pretty bad start... but it ends very, very well! You will see… The DRUNKARD POKER is a great classic for magicians who are in their forties today, and more... The original trick was published if I remember correctly by LES CAHIERS DE LA MAGIE in the 60s. I don't know to whom we owe the idea and the basic routine of this wonderful classic. I obviously used this base to make something a little different. Those who know the original will surely enjoy this new version created by me in April 90. For a long time, I let this little routine (jealously kept secret by the magic intelligentsia) "sleep". A first draft came to me in 1977, but it was of little interest. In 1983, I reworked on a concept requiring the idea of the DRUNKARD POKER. These 2 versions 77 and 83 allowed me to arrive at The Drunkard poker as it has remained since.  

One of Dominique Duvivier's favourite techniques. It looks like a simple flourish, while it keeps the deck in order. Very effective!
