Something to have at your fingertips! This technique of Arturo Di Ascanio is an indispensable part of the magician's knowledge. Here is the principle: you show four red cards and, when you want, you can make a black card appear!  

In a tripartite conference, no one ever agrees, right? This magic trick starts the same way: three spectators randomly choose cards and aces, which are all different. No one is connected... it's worthy of a political debate! Only there, the magic works: the fourth ace, which was not chosen by anyone, not only has the power to find the cards chosen by each of the spectators, but also to multiply himself! Here are our three spectators now in perfect symbiosis... And that's not all! The multiplied Aces suddenly lose their backs to the famous chosen cards, so that there is only one regular Ace left. Then the chosen cards find their regular back in contact with a spectator, because deep down it's normal, the spectator is not a magician! The four multiplied Aces reappear in the hands of the mediator embodied by the magician and are transformed at sight into four perfectly different Aces, while the three chosen cards are found in the deck of cards. Another little "Duvivier" madness that will drive your spectators crazy! A little gem to be discovered without further delay!

Inspired by Dominique Duvivier's version, here is another method to present the Brother John Hamman effect, but without gaffed cards.  

A great classic revisited! There are always four aces, but not only that: you also have a deck. You spread out the cards and Aces turn over one by one, then turn into any card, then back into Aces and all this thanks to the famous "Twisting": that's the rule! As a connoisseur, you will appreciate it!  

It's the story of a drunk who wants to play poker. Being drunk as a skunk, he shuffles the cards face up and face down. Pretty bad start... but it ends very, very well! You will see… The DRUNKARD POKER is a great classic for magicians who are in their forties today, and more... The original trick was published if I remember correctly by LES CAHIERS DE LA MAGIE in the 60s. I don't know to whom we owe the idea and the basic routine of this wonderful classic. I obviously used this base to make something a little different. Those who know the original will surely enjoy this new version created by me in April 90. For a long time, I let this little routine (jealously kept secret by the magic intelligentsia) "sleep". A first draft came to me in 1977, but it was of little interest. In 1983, I reworked on a concept requiring the idea of the DRUNKARD POKER. These 2 versions 77 and 83 allowed me to arrive at The Drunkard poker as it has remained since.  

Two red kings turn into three selected cards... Fast, efficient and very baffling!  

A deck of cards doesn't seem to have been printed properly: no faces, only blue and red backs shuffled... And yet the magic happens!  

On the magician's table, it is the fourth dimension and in his hand, the third dimension... When an object is placed in the fourth dimension, it transforms! A strange experience awaits you…  

In a normal deck, two cards are freely chosen, one in the first half of the deck and one in the second half. Before you can say "phew", you'll notice that the two chosen cards have changed packet! An instantaneous transposition, very flash and punchy! Then a third card is chosen and lost... and this new card ends up between the two cards chosen at the beginning! An unusual card sandwich effect.  

A trick specially designed for one or more travellers who are in front of you in a train car. Magic is needed in all circumstances!  

As a tribute to this famous Brother John Hamman effect, I created an impromptu version (without gaffed cards) of two cards that turn into four different cards.

You just take a few blue-backed cards. A few magic passes and they all become red-backed. Then finally half red-backed and half blue-backed... A packet trick just the way you like it: full of cascading effects and so striking!
